1. Clear Expectations & Communication from Day One

The Problem: Most ministry conflicts happen because expectations were never clearly defined. The church says "grow the youth group" but never specifies what that means. The minister thinks they're succeeding; the elders think they're failing.

Our Solution: Before the minister starts, we sit down with both parties and document everything in writing:

• Specific Goals: Not "grow the youth group" but "increase youth attendance from 15 to 30 within 18 months"
• Success Metrics: How will we know if it's working? Attendance numbers, new families joining, volunteer recruitment
• What the Church Provides: Budget amount, facilities access, leadership support, authority to make decisions
• Compensation Details: Salary, housing, benefits, vacation - all spelled out
• What Happens If: Clear termination guidelines and protection clauses for both sides

Result: No surprises. Both parties know exactly what success looks like and what each side is responsible for. When disagreements arise, you refer back to the written agreement instead of arguing about what was "understood."

2. Coaching for Pastors

Monthly Zoom coaching sessions with the minister to:

• Track progress toward stated objectives
• Identify obstacles and strategize solutions
• Provide encouragement and professional development
• Document compliance with contract terms
• Early identification of potential conflicts

3. Team Building Between Lead Pastor & Elders

Quarterly leadership check-in calls with church leadership to:

• Facilitate clear expectations and cleaner communication
• Receive feedback on minister performance and provide guidance
• Address concerns constructively before they escalate
• Facilitate course corrections and strengthen relationships
• Ensure both parties are meeting obligations
• Build trust through transparent communication

4. Third-Party Mediation Services

When conflicts arise, we provide:

• Rapid response (on-site within 14 days of request)
• Objective assessment by experienced ministry professionals
• Interviews with all stakeholders
• Binding determinations on contract compliance
• Actionable recommendations for resolution

5. Contract Enforcement Authority

Church Leadership Alliance serves as the binding third party with authority to:

• Determine whether objectives are being met
• Assess if church is fulfilling support commitments
• Decide if termination is justified or severance is owed
• Interpret disputed contract terms
• Issue binding rulings both parties must follow

On-Site Mediation Travel

Cost: Actual travel expenses (airfare, hotel, meals, transportation)

When on-site mediation is needed, travel costs are billed separately. Medium and Large church plans include 1-2 visits annually.

Multi-Minister Contract Management

Cost: +$99/month per additional minister

If your church has multiple ministers under covenant agreements, we provide the same coaching and protection services for each.

Emergency Consultation

Cost: Included in Large plan; $250 for Small/Medium plans

After-hours or emergency consultation services for urgent situations requiring immediate guidance.

Contract Amendment Services

Cost: $500 per major amendment

If objectives, compensation, or other major contract terms need to be revised mid-contract, we facilitate the amendment process.

Who pays the monthly fee?

The church pays the monthly subscription. This aligns incentives properly—the church is investing in both protection and accountability.

Is there a setup fee?

No. Contract creation and initial consultation are included in your first month's subscription.

How long is the contract commitment?

Covenant Protection Agreements are structured as 5-year initial terms. Monthly billing continues throughout this period. At the end of 5 years, we conduct a comprehensive review—if the ministry relationship is healthy and mature, fees may be reduced or restructured. Successful ministers may transition to becoming coaches/mediators for other churches.

What happens after 5 years?

After 5 years, the intensive protections and coaching may no longer be necessary. We re-evaluate the relationship and adjust services accordingly. Many ministers who complete successful 5-year agreements join our team to mentor and coach the next generation of ministry professionals.

What if we can't afford the severance if it's triggered?

That's part of the protection. The financial commitment ensures churches don't enter agreements lightly and honor their commitments. Think of it like insurance—the cost prevents the behavior that would trigger the payout.

Do you offer discounts for small churches?

We understand budget constraints. Contact us to discuss your situation. We may offer flexible payment plans or reduced rates for churches under 50 members.
